The Caller Name Presentation (CNAP) is a telecommunication service that allows the name of the caller to be displayed on the recipient’s mobile phone screen before the call is answered.

The CNAP service is designed to enhance consumer protection by enabling recipients to identify callers more easily, helping to reduce fraudulent and scam calls.

This service was developed in collaboration between the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), Ooredoo Qatar, Vodafone Qatar, and key stakeholders.

Objective:

To enhance consumer protection and promote a safer communication environment by enabling call recipients to see the caller’s name before answering, helping them make informed decisions and avoid potential fraud.

Scope:

The CNAP service applies to:
• Calls originating from local corporate entities’ fixed line and business mobile numbers.
• Calls received by any local mobile numbers in Qatar.

Implementation Phases:

Phase 1:
CNAP will be enabled for all corporate fixed-line numbers across public, private, and non-profit sectors.

Phase 2:
CNAP will expand to include corporate mobile numbers across all sectors.
