In May 2010, the Communications Regulatory Authority (Previously ictQATAR) issued the first version of the Class License for Short Range Devices (SRDs), which specified the frequency ranges and the corresponding output powers allowed to be used for SRDs. Four years later the second version was issued in 2014, followed by the third and fourth versions in 2018 and 2021 respectively.
As such, to cope with recent technological developments in radio communications, the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has decided to update the current version of the Class License to include additional applications of short-range radio-communication equipment.
