Registering A Domain

A Registrant is an individual or organization that owns a domain either directly from CRA or through one of CRA’s accredited registrars.

Domains under zones: .gov.qa, .org.qa, .mil.qa, .edu.qa and sch.qa will be registered by CRA directly, while the domains under .qa, .com.qa, .net.qa, .name.qa and قطر. will be registered through CRA’s accredited registrars.

Below table shows the available Qatari top level domains, which consists of the Internationalized Arabic Domain Name (IDN) “.قطر” , the country code top level domain “.qa” and the second level domains under .qa.

        Registering A Domain

  • The domains under zones: .gov.qa, .mil.qa, .edu.qa, .sch.qa, and .org.qa;

    are dedicated only for the governmental entities, education institutions, schools and official organizations located in the State of Qatar.

    For registering domains under the above zones, the entity or its representative should contact CRA at registrars@domains.qa for the requirements and the process.
